Too Late to Listen: The Tragic Cost of Bullying and Ignored Voices.

Twelve years young, a life undone,
A burden too heavy, can no longer run.
The world stood still, her light turned dark,
A precious soul was broken by cruelty’s mark.

Bullying—deliberate, ongoing, cruel,
At school, online, the playground they rule.
Physical, verbal, a whispered taunt,
The pain repeats, the fear will haunt.

Seven in ten, the numbers scream,
At twelve, they face a crushing dream.
One in five, bullied every week,
Yet the signs, we often fail to seek.

Parents and teachers, we must unite,
To show our children what is right.
For silence allows this pain to grow,
And suffering hides behind smiles that glow.

We talk of work, of busy days,
But that’s no excuse to look away.
For every moment lost in haste
Can turn to tragedy we can’t erase.

Teach emotional strength, show how to feel,
That kindness is power, and empathy’s real.
To know right from wrong, to see through the tears,
To help a friend stand up to their fears.

For the loss is far greater than one—
Families shattered, guilt begun.
Self-blame, anger, shame set in,
A school left wondering, where to begin?

The signs, they’re there if we look,
In their silence, the stories are mistook.
Withdrawn, alone, aches and tears,
These are the cries, the whispered fears.

So, parents, teachers, hear this plea—
Equip our schools, our home, our children, it’s our responsibility.
Teach emotional intelligence, let it grow,
For these are the skills our children must know.
